Our client, a children’s apparel company, is hiring a Production Coordinator / Fabric Buyer to join their team in NYC on a hybrid schedule (4 days in office). This entry-level role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in production operations, with a focus on purchase order management, fabric procurement and tracking, and consumption analysis.
Job Duties Include:
- Create, process, and monitor purchase orders for raw materials and finished products
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manage order details, and coordinate delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders, shipments, and discrepancies to ensure data integrity
- Identify and resolve issues related to purchase orders to maintain smooth operations
- Develop tracking and reporting tools for fabric management using advanced Excel techniques
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of fabric purchases, costs, and supplier performance for analysis and reporting
- Assess fabric requirements based on production plans and demand forecasts
- Place and manage fabric orders, ensuring all quality and specification standards are met
- Track deliveries and oversee inventory levels
- Maintain detailed records for each production cycle and use data insights to optimize processes
- Generate reports on fabric usage and address shortages, defects, or supply chain disruptions
- Act as liaison for Central American manufacturing partners, ensuring clear and effective communication
- Track production schedules and coordinate with the Logistics Team to ensure timely deliveries
Job Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Textile Management, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret data
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and INDEX-MATCH
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Knowledge of textile and garment production processes
- Experience in production coordination, supply chain management, or a similar role in the apparel industry
- Understanding of purchase order management, fabric sourcing, and inventory control
Salary: $62 - $68k annually
