Holiday time is the busiest time of year for retail market and freelance workers, which can make it stressful for each individual employee to manage duties, provide excellent customer service and keep a calm mindset and poise. When prepping for the holidays, follow these tips compiled from our team and have your best season yet!
Take Care of Personal Errands in Advance:
To avoid unnecessary stress, get all of your personal errands including holiday shopping done early and on your free time. Instead of stressing out about your own personal errands, you will allow yourself to manage clients and customers more efficiently.
Take Time for Yourself:
Prioritizing self-care during this season is crucial. If you do not take the time to relax your mind and body, you will burn out quickly. During breaks, find a quiet area to take a breath and refresh. You will head back to work with a clear and positive mindset.
Customer Service:
Be polite to customers, and create experiences. Make the most of every encounter by being kind – one act of kindness can change someone’s day for the better. If you find yourself working and losing your pep, take a minute to yourself by practicing the self-care tips mentioned above.
Holiday Pay:
If all else fails, remember your bonus, employee discount or paycheck at the end of each assignment. Reminding yourself of what you will use that money towards – gifts to yourself, vacation, paying off debt – will make all of the hours and daily obstacles worth every penny you receive.
