Summer has officially come to a close which means it’s time for both fall and flu season. With the cooler climate heading our way, it is important to keep health and wellness on your mind when the autumn rolls around.
However, don’t panic! Here are a few tips to have you feeling happy and healthy this cold and flu season:
Wash Your Hands
This may sound like a ‘no-brainer’, but washing your hands is critically important to continuously wash your hands throughout your day. Whether it’s before or after you take your lunch break, are meeting with a group of co-workers, or are just working at your desk, maintaining cleanliness is crucially important. Having a bottle of hand sanitizer nearby at all times also doesn’t hurt!
Maintain a Regular Excursive Routine
If you can, try to hit the gym, go for a walk, or do some sort of physical activity a few times per week. Staying active will help you feeling great and staying healthy during the cooler months of the year. An article from Mindfood discusses the “do’s and don’ts” to working out and maintaining a regular exercise routine during cold and flu season.
Snack Wisely and Stay Hydrated
It goes without saying, but staying healthy through what you eat and drink is key to staying healthy during cold and flu season. Not only will eating healthy and staying hydrated help to keep you from becoming sick, but will also boost your energy throughout the day and having you feeling your best while at work.
Listen to Your Body
No one knows your body better than you do! If you are feeling under the weather, take the time to rest up and recover. Ask your supervisor about possibly working from home or taking the day to visit a doctor if you’re feeling ill. Staying home to rest will also aid in stopping the spread of germs in your office, helping to keep your co-workers or clients healthy and happy.
